| The National Park Tenorio Volcano was created on the 16 of March of 1976. This cone is the second elevation of the Volcanic Mountain range of Guanacaste. Because of its location and geographic alignment, this mountain range works like a natural wall, blocking loaded humidity clouds coming from the Caribbean Sea, which are pulled by northwest tradewinds. The Park is shaped by a mosaic of resources of great beauty, between which it excels the Celeste River, with waters of that tonality, phenomenon that occurs because of the sulfide emanation and the precipitation of calcium carbonate. | Natural and Cultural Resources |
| Due to the great variety of climates, the National Park Tenorio Volcano lodge an extensive amount of species of plants and you hoist; between most common they are: rivet, aguacatillo, níspero, banana, tapir and great amount of palms, ferns, bromelias, orquídeas and heliconias. Between the more excellent species of fauna they are: moose, saíno, tolomuco, Congo monkey, monkey carablanca, colored monkey, felines (puma, caucel and manigordo), bird bell, pavón and different hawks and trogones.
